This picture popped up on my Facebook news feed about a week ago, and I literally laughed out loud! When something makes me laugh like that I know that it will probably entertain others (and hopefully educate a couple more), so I felt the need to share it on the office's Facebook page. I admit that I did not expect the conversations that would follow this week... Some people laughed, a couple of people disagreed, some people didn't understand why it was funny, but to be totally honest some people didn't even know what that thing on the floor was before they came into my office. Hopefully, all of our patients understand the benefits of this tool before they are done with us. Admittedly, I may be a little biased because I truly believe that the kettlebell is the most effective tool to train for strength and for cardio. Wondering what the take home message is? Here you go - A kettlebell you can get stronger and get your heart rate racing at the same time! Can a treadmill do that for you? Why not kill two birds with one stone???

THEN, this week I am scrolling through Facebook again. It was during lunch I need to do something while I'm eating right? My friend shared a video that explained why the kettlebell swing is the king of all exercises! I have heard many of my friends that are involved in the fitness industry tell me that if they could only do one exercise for the rest of their life it would be a kettlebell swing. In fact, Dan John (a very smart strength coach) even developed a workout program that is called the 10,000 swing workout... Take a breath, it is not 10,000 swings in one workout! But it is 10,000 swings over a 4 week period of time! That is still a ton of swinging - about 360 swings per day! 360 swings EVERY, SINGLE day for 4 weeks! I'm not suggesting that you need to do this but the kettlebell swing does the body a lot of good!
