Thank You For Understanding!

Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we closed the office over the past week. Thank you for your understanding when there was no Freedom Fridays newsletter in your Inbox last week. Thank you for all of your support over the past 8 years!

Thank you for everything!

We all need some downtime and last week, our entire office was able to do just that!

Our family traveled to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for about 5 days and it would be an understatement to say that we enjoyed every second of the trip. We went to the beach, hung out with friends (who happened to be in the Outer Banks at the same time), played mini golf, ate ice cream (almost every night), celebrated a birthday, climbed sand dunes, got some surfing lessons (well two of us did), relaxed on the screened in porch with a good book and a cup of coffee. The list of things that we did, in just 5 days, is seemingly endless.

We truly enjoyed the freedom to do what we wanted when we wanted.

As much as I enjoyed that freedom, I quickly realized that upon returning home I also needed to get back to the structure of our life in Sykesville. While I was enjoying my freedom for my week away, I knew that if I continued to live that way I would struggle to stay healthy.

It is the discipline to live a structured life that allows us to enjoy that freedom. I realized that during my week away, there was no structured exercise, very little vegetables in my diet, my sleep schedule was erratic, and I think that I drank more alcohol than I had in the past 3 months combined. That is not a sustainable combination for me if I plan to stay healthy.

Making good decisions, consistently, is the recipe for a long and healthy life.

Just because we can live our everyday life like we are on vacation, doesn't mean that we should!
