Can't Wait For The Weekend

Who else is excied for the weather this weekend?  Most Marylanders cannont wait for the winter to finally end (fingers crossed) and spring to arrive!  Home Depot had a huge sale on mulch this week, which typically marks the unofficial beginning of spring in my household.  As excited as I am for the awesome weather headed our way, I will most likely not get to see much of it.  That really stinks, right?

Unfortunately, I will be indoors for the majority of the day on Saturday and Sunday. The Mid Atlantic Affiliate Challenge will be going on down in Columbia, and I have been given the opportunity to work with some of the best athletes in the region. Most of you reading this are probably wondering "What in the world is the Mid Atlantic Affiliate Challenge (MAAC)?" The MAAC is probably the largest CrossFit competition in the Mid Atlantic, and  I will get the chance to help these athletes recover from the wear and tear of the 5-6 workouts that they will be doing on Saturday and Sunday. Yes, you read that right. They will be doing 3 workouts between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM on Saturday and at least 2, and possibly 3, more workouts during the same time frame on Sunday. Remember that these are not "easy" workouts... so these athletes, will, most likely, be wiped out!  Luckily for them, in the recovery area, there will be 6-7 PT's, and ONLY 1 chiropractor there ready to assist the athletes in getting ready to compete in their next workout!

I am sure that I will be bringing back some great stories from this fun-filled weekend. Make sure to ask me about my experience when you come in for your appointment next week!

If you would like more information about the MAAC here is a link to their website.

If you want a sneak peak of what these athletes will be going through, here is a clip from last years MAAC:
