Last weekend, I got the chance to spend some time with 2 colleagues. What began as a weekend that was supposed to be focused on our offices, quickly changed paths. During conversations that were supposed to be business-centric we quickly realized that our paths to improving our individual offices involved correcting some of our own habits. Then we realized that fixing those habits that were holding us back would not only impact our offices but probably drastically improve our personal lives. The moral of this little story is that if you want to make changes in your world, make sure to look within first. And don't be afraid to ask for help from a friend (who is willing to be honest with you) because their perspective may be able to see something that you cannot.
